Mike Pence is as deplorable as Trump.

Trumpism’s benign encouraging uncle is just as dangerous as the man currently in the Oval Office, if not more so.

He seemed a pretty drab and dreary pick in 2016; an establishment Republican governor, in the pockets of corporations, and with a passion for stripping away LGBT+ rights…. standard mainstream GOP stuff. But Mike Pence is as central to the cause of Trumpism as the man himself, and could prove even more so if the likely outcome of a Trump defeat comes to pass.

Mike Pence may have been a Trump-sceptic during the election he assumed his ticket would loose, over the last four years he’s become a fully convert, waxing lyrical across America in campaigning overdrive about the evils of a Biden-Harris administration, in a way far more sane sounding, and persuasive to the floating voter, than the President’s deranged rants about Biden banning cows.

There are two reasons Mike Pence poses a greater threat to Donald Trump, and I’ll explain below.

Firstly, if Trump looses, it’s likely his ideology will cling on in some new amalgamated form to the GOP, and there will be a fight to succeed him, along with a period of civil war within the party. A highly probable standard bearer in the form of Mike Pence could emerge. He allegedly has long term Presidential ambitions, hence selling his soul to the Trumpist devil. The scary thing about Pence is, with his hardline religious credentials and approachable demeanour, he could prove himself to be a much more acceptable and mainstream looking face of Trumpism, and one middle America could well accept.

Secondly, and most worryingly, Pence would actually implement Trumpism. These four years have made the levelling of facism at Trump seem a little comical at times; however much Trump would want to be such a thing, he’s a wannabe dictator with little power, who’s yes, done massive damage, but spent a lot of the last four years having tantrums. Pence would work the system, and most likely achieve far more hard right bucket list goals, continuing the toxic bizarre concoction of Christian extremism and white nationalism that Trump has fanned the flames of, and essentially proports.

Don’t think any different: Mike Pence is as dangerous to America as Donald Trump, and could prove far more so.
