Rashford is leading the opposition.

As always, toothless opposition fails.

Boris Johnson ripped to shreds, and threw Starmer’s argument out of the water at PMQs. The most infuriating thing is what Starmer said was bang on, and this should have been a humiliating PMQs for Johnson. Alas, Keir Starmer got in Keir Starmer’s way, as he has a habit of doing.

I really don’t know who’s whispering in Sir Keith’s ear, but this really isn’t a good look now. Johnson scolding Starmer on the necessity of closing schools, all because Starmer was too timid and useless to call for this thing a week in advance, which would have given him authority on the subject. Starmer knew the right thing to do here, and didn’t do it. With zero political benefit and a chunk of political cost. Who’s advising this guy??

The sheer stupidity of Labour’s posturing during this exasperates me, because it not only fails to hold this reckless govt to account, but it makes them look like opportunistic, hindsight ridden muppets. Boris Johnson literally jibed Starmer on Rashford holding him to account better than Starmer does, and he’s absolutely right!

The mighty Labour party has been reduced to hitching a ride on the coattails of a footballer with masses more moral clarity and courage than them, and who represents the very best of people in this country. Labour is left scrabbling around desperately, attempting to jump on the bandwagon once Marcus Rashford has already condemned, scared, and changed government policy.

Unironically, right now, Marcus Rashford is leading opposition to this govt. I would suggest Labour attempt to recruit him to work with them, but why on Earth would the guy do that, when he as much as everyone else can see what cowards they’re being, in the face of clear “right or wrong” propositions. Keir Starmer is literally making Boris Johnson look decisive.

This has to stop. Shame on Keir Starmer for his spineless, opportunistic leadership, and all credit to Marcus Rashford for being the moral, decent, honest human being he is. The Labour party doesn’t have an ounce of any of that now.
