The victim mentality belongs to the Tories

It’s a point I heard made excellently by Owen Jones, so I’ll repeat it: the radical right are stronger than they’ve been in years, they govern huge swathes of the planet, why do they see themselves as underdogs under attack? The left isn’t in power, no one is repressing the right, the right are repressing everyone else.

Snowflake is one of the less creative insults hurled by the other side at progressives, but the hypocrisy is stunning, as we’ve seen in past days, during the school meals furore. The left has been called a bunch of out of touch sensitive snowflakes while Dawn Butler, a black leftwing MP had her constituency smashed up, when Labour MP Jo Cox was murdered, and when Labour activists were attacked. All these things were a direct result of inflammatory rhetoric from the right, by the way. Just recently someone waving a Nazi flag attacked a lawyer; wonder who inspired them to do that? Oh right, our Home Secretary.

Meanwhile, #ToryScum trends on Twitter and some anti-Brexit stickers are plastered to a constituency office, among widespread public shaming of Tory MPs for being, to put it plainly; heartless sods, the right has swung into full victim mode. They accuse us of having a victim mentality? It’s bang on target with the standard forte of the right: accuse others of your own worst failings, very Trumpian tactic. If there are death threats (and I’m sure they occur) or any form of intimidating or violent behaviour towards anyone of any political persuasion, I disavow and condemn it; that’s not what we do. However, I won’t be shedding a tear over Tory MPs calling “incitement” over someone questioning their values or mindset.

Time for a dose of their own medicine; suck it up you virtue-signalling hypocritical snowflakes. Wow, that felt good.
